2009 is here with great anticipation and probably some challenges with the current economic situation.   The positive is that with any luck fuel prices will stay low.  On the flipside we know there is alot of economic uncertainty out there and with that in mind we sincerely hope that you can join us this year!

Some cool new things we have been working on with regards to the website will hopefully give you an interesting look to what we are all about, and what we are up to.  We now have a "media" page linked off our home page that features our photo album and video footage.  So, please email us your pictures after your trip and we will add them to the album.   We are also going to try taking alot of video this year so we can give you a look at some of the action!

In addition, we have added the new "twitter" feature to our Fishing Reports page.  What this will enable us to do is to update our fishing reports in REAL TIME via text message from our cell phones on the boat.  They can only be short posts, so don't expect an in depth report...but if you are wondering how we are doing before you show up for your charter, either visit our reports page or follow us via twitter on your cell phone.   If you visit www.twitter.com there are simple instructions to activate your phone to enable you to receive text message updates of our real time fishing reports.

If you decide to "follow us" via twitter on your cell phone via text message OR via the website, we will be periodically throwing out some discount coupons for charters, as well as notifying of last minute availability.   This is a great way to get a last minute deal on a charter...and to find out when the fishing is on fire so you can get a reservation asap.   So "FOLLOW US" on Twitter to stay in the loop!

We may also try the webcam on the boat this year via our high speed wireless cellular connection.  We aren't sure how that will work out because cell service can be spotty, but at some point we will try to add that to the media page if we find the time.

2008 will have proved to been a very exciting year for Profishient Charters!  It was by far our best year in terms of total charters booked despite record fuel prices.   A huge percentage of our business was from repeat customers like you and your fantastic referrals!   We owe our success to you our customers!

2008 was also another year of absolutely fantastic fishing.   It started off great guns down in Michigan City with full coolers of 3-5lb coho and some dandy lake trout.   Once we moved north to Saugatuck it was nearly non-stop action through the end of our season.   May was on fire as it usually is...and the action carried over thru the third week of June.   A typical slowdown until just after the 4th of July and then it all broke loose.   Limit or near limit catches were the norm rather than the exception during July, August and September, and some huge kings of 20-30lb class hit the deck...some of the nicest fish we have seen in years.

On the tournament trail Team Profishient solidified our position as a solid up and coming team amongst the tournament elite on Lake Michigan.   Engine problems plagued the early tournament scene for us fishing on one engine in the Michigan City Coho Classic (15th place Pro Division), and then completely shutting us in at the dock in St Joe with both engines down.   We struggled to get the kinks worked out which kept us busy through mid June.

Team Profishient ended up strong at the tail end of the Tournament Trail taking two 3rd place Pro Division finishes in the Holland Big Red Classic and Saugatuck Big Lake Classic.  

The combined 3 finishes netted Team Profishient a respectable 9th place finish in the inaugural GL2S Tournament Circuit (www.gl2s.com) which ranks top tournament teams on Lake Michigan based upon tournament performance.

We are already looking forward to next season with high expectations for both the fishing and exciting tournament action.
