Welcome to the Profishient Charters Lake Michigan Fishing Report Page.
This page is primarily intended for the use of our customers with booked reservations to keep an eye on what to expect, and for prospective customers to get an idea of how we are doing compared to others as they shop for the right charter out of the right port for the given time frame they want to go fishing.
We feel that if fishing happens to not be very good in our port that we should be setting realistic expectations for their charter trip. Those reports are facilitated through "Twitter" which are limited to 140 characters or less...so pretty basic information. If you wish to follow us via twitter, you can follow "CharterCaptain" and receive this basic report information.
We also have introduced another report option which we are sure will soon be imitated by other charter operators and local charter booking agents...but as usual we are the first to take it to the cutting edge. This report option is for recreational fishermen that are fishing on their own boats out of Saugatuck, Holland or Port Sheldon. The information about these reports are below the "Twitter" report.
In addition, we are proud to announce our new relationship with Blood Run Tackle Co. of Australia which manufactures custom hi-speed copper and leadcore trolling reels with the "fastest on the market" 6.1.1 retrieve. We will also be carrying their line of "super copper" trolling wire, copolymer backer, and fluorocarbon top shot leader material for the great lake salmon angler. These affordable reels and line will be available on our sister website Michigansalmoncharter.com.
Recreational Fisherman Report Option:
We get alot of calls and emails from guys fishing out of Saugatuck, Holland and Port Sheldon looking for info prior to their trips out on the big lake. While we haven't necessarily in the past been extremely detailed in these reports, we still try to help guys out because its a big lake and there are lots of fish and this isn't about competition. So what we are going to offer is a detailed fishing "program" for you to follow on your trips out to the big lake.
As you know, the location and baits can change daily, and you are spending alot of time and money to come out to get fish and you want to be as productive as you can be. We of course spend about a thousand dollars a week in fuel during peak season out there fishing and know exactly where the best bite is and what program will work.
This report option may not be the thing for you if you want to go out and troll around for a few hours and catch a couple of fish. This is probably more suited to the guys who want to go out and really try to bang the fish hard because they may be travelling from a long distance or maybe can't get out too often and need to make the trip "count".
So we are going to give you an option to purchase a customized fishing report for your next trip out of Saugatuck, Holland or Port Sheldon from us directly. We are not sponsored by any lure manufacturers so it's not going to be a ridiculous rant on how you need to have exactly the same lures we are pulling or some ploy to pull you down to a tackle store to buy a bunch of lures and rigs. We will tell you what we are doing and what you should try to do with the baits and rods you have to help get you on the fish. These reports will include:
North/South and East/West lat/long numbers to get you in the right area
Best Depths of water within the area
Best trolling angle(s)
Best GPS Speed over Ground
Every lure/setup we are pulling on each and every rod....example 300 copper with an NBK Stinger, outdowns at 50 and 60 with 20 foot leads pulling chrome spinnies, etc.
Again these won't be attempts to promote some sponsorship, or a goofy program that cannot be duplicated like some charter operators run....these are very detailed but easy to follow programs that will work if you follow them. We are pretty simple fisherman, and we don't do alot of lure changing so you won't have to have a hundred different lures to get it right.
We think this is probably a good deal for a small price that can maybe help you put an extra half dozen or more fish in your box for your trip. Again this isn't about a competition but just our way of helping some guys out and getting a couple bucks back for our efforts in figuring out our program. And of course nothing is a guarantee...but we can guarantee what we are saying is what we are doing and you will see us in that water doing the same thing more than likely while you are out there.
The option to pay for this report is below. You will be walked through a simple and secure payment process, at which point there will be a "notes" section that you will need to type in the date of your trip, and a phone number to reach you at between 9 and 10 p.m. the night before or two nights before your trip. We will call you and take about 10 minutes to give you the run down and answer any questions. We will not email out the report info but rather speak directly with you to ask you about your setup so we can tell you what would work best in your situation.
The cost for your custom fishing report is $25 and is non-refundable. Click the "Buy Now" button below to go through the purchasing process. Remember to type in your planned trip date and a phone number to contact you at between 9 and 10 pm a night or two before your trip.
We will not be offering this report option during the weeks of July 26 through August 9 as we more than likely will be pre-fishing for the Holland and Saugatuck tournaments.
We are continuing to accept reservations for michigan fishing charters on Lake Michigan from Michigan City and Holland for the 2008 season. Please visit one of our websites for more information.
